"He who laughs, lasts." –Mary Pettibone Poole
Yes, my friends, we are living in interesting times. What does the future look like? None of us know and that can be very disconcerting. One thing we know will remain is our ability to laugh.
Although life right now is anxious and uncertain, one of the interesting byproducts is how humor is helping people cope. We, at AATH, have always known that humor is the great emotional equalizer and so we've brought together some of our best and brightest to discuss not only the how of humor but also the why. I hope you get as much from our panel of experts as I did and keep sharing those memes!
ENJOY!

Episode 73: It's About Time! With Dr. David Tarvin
Friday Feb 28, 2020
Friday Feb 28, 2020
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin
I've titled this episode "It's About Time" because it is about time that I aired it! My own mistake. David and I had a great conversation at the conference last year and then I lost the interview. Well, actually, I misplaced it. Then....the other day...I found it! YAHTZEE!!
David and I discussed a lot of interesting humor related topics but what was most interesting is how he uses humor to engage his students and help them learn. Fascinating conversation with a very smart guy!
ENJOY!
More on David (in his own words)..
Howdy! I lecture at Texas A&M University in the Department of Communication. I have been dubbed both the ‘humor guy’ and the ‘intercultural dude’ by our course coordinator, and I am proud to embody that persona. My goal as an educator is to make learning a fun and worthwhile experience. Using humor, graphic facilitation, and my personal (and sometimes embarrassing) experiences, I help students retain information and remain engaged in the class.
